Do you like to listen to music when you write?

Most of the time I don’t have music on whilst writing, but if I do I like to listen to things that help with inspiration. I have quite an eclectic taste in music, I’m a huge fan of almost anything from the ’80’s but my tastes run wide, from Katy Perry to Slipknot and everything in between. I give each character I write their own soundtrack or album, whether or not that is revealed in the story I am writing.

Here are a five of my all time favourite albums to listen to whilst writing… Continue reading “My Writing Playlist”

30 Day Blog Challenge – Day 20

Ok still playing catch up…
One good thing that happened today – My good friends shined through in my time of need, even if they coudln’t be there in person the well wishes flooded in and offers of help a plenty. It’s nice to know that there are ‘many’ people who love and understand me, even if I am a ‘handful’ at times. I make mistakes, big ones, but with the love of my friends (and family) I get through each mistake stronger and wiser – live, love, no regrets, never die…

Photo Challenge – A picture of someone you need more then ever now – My dearest friend Lindsay –

Book Challenge – A Book you would recommend to an ignorant/racist/closed minded person – Voices Beyond The Border: Living with Borderline Personality Disorder by Vicky Cox and Lucy Robinson. Hopefully the more people read about mental health conditions the more they can understand, but saying that until you’ve had to deal with it yourself you probably never can… even living with a borderline doesn’t give you any insight… 😦

Status Challenge – Your lookalike celeb – ahh this is an easy one as it was pointed out to me on a night out, I’d nvere seen the show but had to look up this young lady after and was amazed to see she really is my (younger) double! Madeline Martin aka Becca Moody of Californication

Film Challenge – A film that reminds you of a certain place/ event… Dawn of the Dead (1978 version) reminds me of my nan and grandads house, they used to let me watch the ‘zombies in the shopping mall’ as I called it then even though I was only very young! hehe

Song Challenge – a song that you listen to when you’re angry – I am. I feel – Alisha’s Attic…

30 Day Blog Challenge – Day 19

I know it’s a bit late, I’m having to play catch up after spending the last couple of days unwell and in hospital, so for the ‘one good thing that happened today’ on day 19 it was basically the fact that I lived to be back here playing catch up!

Book Challenge – A Book that changed your mind about a particular subject (non-fiction) – I guess that would be my OU books for the U316 The Environmental Web course. This course and the books within it changed my view on climate change and opened my eyes to the reality of the situation 🙂

Photo Challenge – A picture of a pet – well I don’t have any pets right now, but most Max my vicious little rug was lovely –

Film Challenge – A film that reminds you of someone – awww sweet childhood memories, my first love Darren we used to watch this film together and he would sing ‘Hungry Eyes’ to me – Dirty Dancing, of course 😀

Status challenge – Name of a cocktail that would describe you – hehe, has to be my own personal favourite the Cheeky Vimto – cause I’m cheeky, fun and whilst I give the illusion of being not very strong I have inner depths of strength that will overpower you if you consume too much… lmao

Song Challenge – a song from your favorite album – Alisha rules the World from the album of the same name 🙂

30 Day Blog Challenge – Day 11

One good thing that happened today – I didn’t pass out when the radiographer stuck a venflon into a patients artery (instead of the vein) and blood spurted everywhere! lol

Photo Challenge – A Collage of all of your favorite things. Ahh bugger that means I’ve got to actually create this!
here you go –

Collage of my favourite things

Book Challenge – The Book that made you fall in love with reading, damn can i remember that far back!? I’ve always loved reading, I was reading from the age of 2! but I guess the earliest books I can actually remember are Enid Blyton’s so I think something like ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ would have started me off properly (and it’s a ‘fantasy’ story too, guess I was born with the geeky/nerdy mind! hehe)

Film Challenge – Your favourite cartoon film, awww thats gotta be another oldie – The Black Cauldron, the first film I ever saw in the cinema, when I was 8-9 years old 😀

Status Challenge – fill in the blank of the following I’m glad I’m not _________ fat! plan and simple, I couldn’t handle being anything larger than a UK size 12, thankfully I’m only a 6-8 🙂

Song Challenge – a song from your favorite band – which favourite band, I have several… lets go with Alisha’s Attic – I am, I feel
